2.8L Diesel

  1. Remove negative (-) battery cable from battery and isolate cable.
  2. Remove cap from power steering fluid reservoir.
  3. Using a siphon pump, remove as much power steering fluid as possible from power steering fluid reservoir.
  4. Remove clamp, then supply hose (3) from pump (4).

  5. Unthread tube nut and remove pressure hose (1) from pump (2).
  6. Remove accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

  7. Remove the engine mount bracket fasteners (1) and (4).
  8. Using a floor jack, lift the right side of the engine only high enough to remove the pump mounting bolts in the next step.

  9. Remove three pump mounting bolts (1) through pump pulley.
  10. Remove pump (2) from engine compartment.
  11. If pulley needs removal. Refer to PULLEY, POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVAL .
