Charging (Service Information): Generator: Installation: 3.6L

  1. Position the generator (2) to the engine and loosely install the upper and lower retainers (1).

    Tighten the upper generator mounting retainers to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

  2. Tighten the lower generator bolt.
  3. Install the B+ cable (3) and nut (2). Tighten to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
  4. Install the generator field connector (1).

  5. Install the idler pulley (7). Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.).
  6. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the lower belly pan.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the radiator cooling fans. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
