Arm, Lower Control: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove wheel mounting bolts, then tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

  3. Remove stabilizer link stud through lower control arm nut (2).

  4. Remove lower ball joint retaining nut (3) to lower control arm and using (special tool #C-3894-A, Puller, Tie Rod)separate ball joint from control arm.

  5. Remove front horizontal bolt (1) attaching lower control arm to cross-member.
  6. Remove rear vertical bolt (2) attaching lower control arm to cross-member.
  7. Remove lower control arm.
