Cable, Shift: Installation
- Install the gearshift cable (3) through the bulkhead from the passenger compartment.
- Seat the grommet (1) onto the bulkhead. Install and tighten the four fasteners (2).
- Connect the gearshift cable (1) to the bracket.
- Attach shifter cable assembly (1) to the shifter (2), an audible "click" should be heard when the locking tab (3) engages the housing.
Connect the gearshift cable to the transmission manual valve lever (3).
- Install the gear shift cable (1) to the shifter. Make sure the lock tab on the gearshift cable is fully seated.
- Install the cupholder support bracket.
- Install the center instrument panel cupholder assembly. Refer to CUPHOLDER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative cable at the battery.
- If necessary, adjust the shifter cable. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .
