Charging (Service Information): Generator: Installation

  1. Position the generator (2) to the engine and loosely hand start the upper and lower fasteners (1).

    Tighten the fasteners in the following order, front lower, front upper, rear upper to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  2. Install the B+ cable (3) and nut (2). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the generator field connector (1).

  4. Install the idler pulley (7). Tighten the bolt to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the serpentine belt (1). Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the lower belly pan.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the radiator cooling fans. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
