Removal And Installation
REMOVAL
- Disconnect the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) (2) to prevent excessive wire bend during removal of the negative battery cable terminal end.
- Disconnect and isolate the remote terminal connection from the negative post. Press the release tab and lift the connector (1) off of the post.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery connector (2) from the negative battery post.
- Remove the positive battery fuse and junction box cover by pressing both tabs (1) and then lifting up on the cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connections (1) to the battery fuse junction box.
- Remove the two junction box retaining screws (3).
- Loosen the positive terminal battery clamp (2) from the post.
- Lift the auxiliary junction box from the battery and position aside.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent tool, remove the auxiliary junction box retainer (1) from the battery.
- Remove the bolt (1) securing the battery strap in position.
- Remove the battery from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
- Install the battery to the vehicle.
- Install the battery strap and retain it using the supplied bolt (1).
- Transfer the auxiliary junction box retainer (1) to the new battery (if battery was replaced).
- Install the positive battery clamp (2) to the positive battery terminal and tighten.
- Position the auxiliary junction box to the battery for installation.
- Line the auxiliary junction block properly to install two retaining screws (3).
- Connect all electrical connections (1) to the auxiliary junction block.
- Position and snap the auxiliary junction box cover into place.
- Install the negative battery terminal to the negative battery post (2) and securely tighten the nut (1).
- Connect the remote negative terminal connection (1) to the negative battery pole.
- Connect the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) connector (2).
