Removal And Installation: 2.4L

  1. Remove/reposition the power steering pump to gain access to the manifold heat shield. Refer to PUMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

  3. Remove the upper generator retaining bolt (1).
  4. Disconnect the B+ cable (2) from the generator.
  5. Disconnect the field generator harness connector (3) from the generator.
  6. Remove the two lower generator retaining bolts (4).
  7. Remove the generator from the vehicle.

  1. Install the generator to the engine block. Tighten the upper bolt (1) and lower bolts (4) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the positive cable to the rear of the generator stud (2). Tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the field generator harness connector (3).
  4. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  5. Install the power steering pump. Refer to PUMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
