Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Partially drain the cooling system below the level of the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to DRAINING THE COOLING SYSTEM .
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Unlock and disconnect the ECT sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (1).
