Pump, Water: Installation: 5.7L/6.4L

NOTE:

5.7L shown in illustration. 6.4L similar.

  1. Clean the mating surfaces and install the water pump (3). Tighten the mounting bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install the upper metal heater tube.
  3. Install the belt tensioner assembly (4). Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the idler pulley (5).
  5. Install the lower radiator hose.
  6. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the resonator mounting bracket.
  8. Install the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing (1).
  9. Install the air intake assembly. Refer to 5.7L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION or 6.4L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Evacuate the air and refill the cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
  12. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS .
