Charging System (Service Information): Generator: Installation: 6.4L
- Position the generator to the engine.
- Install the mounting bolts (1). The lower mounting bolt goes in the rear mounting hole.
- Install the lower stud bolt (2) in the lower front mounting hole. Torque the bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Install the ground wire on the lower mounting stud (2) and install the generator mounting nut finger tight and then tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Snap the field wire connector (3) into the rear of the generator.
- Reposition the super charger coolant hoses and tighten the fastener securely.
- Install the B+ terminal eyelet to the generator output stud.
Tighten the mounting nut to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
CAUTION:Never force a belt over a pulley rim using a screwdriver. The synthetic fiber of the belt can be damaged.
CAUTION:When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat. Refer to belt routing label in engine compartment, or the appropriate service information.
- install the splash shield. Refer to FRONT, SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the serpentine belt. Refer to 5.7L/6.4L, BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to 6.4L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the negative battery cable and tighten the nut to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
