Fuel System: Notes

CAUTION: Release fuel pressure before servicing any fuel components. For fuel system pressure relief procedures and fuel system diagnosis, see appropriate article in FUEL SYSTEMS section.

Fuel pressure is tested at the test port on the side of the fuel pressure regulator, next to the fuel return line. Remove test port plug from throttle body to test. See Fig 1 . Using Test Adapter 6173) installed in throttle body, test fuel pressure. If fuel pressure is not to specification, turn pressure regulator adjusting screw in to increase pressure. Turn adjusting screw out to decrease pressure.
