Throttle Body Assembly: Removal

  1. Release fuel system pressure as described in FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  in TESTING & DIAGNOSIS section of this article. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner. Disconnect throttle cable and cruise control cable (if equipped).
  2. Squeeze retainer tabs and disconnect fuel lines by pulling straight out. Note that retainer stays on fuel tube. See Fig 1 . Disconnect TPS and ISC motor wire connectors. Remove injector wire connector. Disconnect vacuum connectors from side of throttle body.
  3. Remove support brace from cruise control cable bracket (if equipped). Loosen throttle body mounting bolts and remove throttle body. Remove throttle body gasket.
