Description & Operation

NOTE: The door lock actuator contains a PTC thermistor to prevent damage caused by overheating of the motor. If the central door lock is frequently used, the actuator may temporarily fail to operate. If it returns to normal in a few minutes, it is not defective. The door lock control unit may also be referred to as ECU.

Battery voltage is always available, through multi-purpose fuse No. 6 (15-amp), to the door lock relay. If the inside lock knobs on the door's are placed in the locked (or unlocked) position, the switch in the door actuator goes OFF (or ON) and the lock side (or unlock side) relay in the door lock control unit goes ON for 1/2 (0.5) second and the actuators for all doors functions.
