PCV Valve

A closed crankcase ventilation system is utilized to prevent blow-by gases from escaping into the atmosphere. This system has a PCV valve at the rocker cover. PCV system supplies fresh air to crankcase through the air cleaner. Inside crankcase, fresh air is mixed with blow-by gases and is passed through PCV valve into the intake manifold. The PCV valve has a metered orifice through which the mixture of fresh air and blow-by gases is drawn into intake manifold in response to intake manifold vacuum.
