Power Steering Pump: Inspection

Check gap between vane and rotor groove. Gap should be less than .0024" (.061 mm). Replace oil pump cartridge kit if not to specification. Install shaft and pulley assembly in oil pump body. Use a dial indicator to check for play at rotor end of shaft. Play should be less than .004" (.1 mm). Replace shaft and pulley assembly if not to specification.
