Cruise Control Verification

  1. Inspect and ensure that all engine components are connected. If other faults were previously present and has not yet been corrected, go to TEST FC-1A  . If PCM has not been changed, connect DRB-II to data link connector and erase faults. Using DRB-II, reset all values in adaptive memory and disconnect DRB-II.
  2. Ensure no other cruise control system problems remain by:
    • Turn on A/C and blower motor (if equipped with A/C).
    • Drive vehicle for no less than 5 minutes and attain a speed of 40 MPH.
    • Ensure transmission shifts through all gears.
    • After completion of road test, turn engine off.
    • Start engine and idle for no less than 2 minutes.
    • Turn engine off.
    • Connect DRB-II to data link connector and read fault messages.
  3. If previously repaired fault has reset, repair is incomplete. Check all related TECH SERVICE BULLETINS and return to TEST FC-1A  if necessary. If any other faults are present, proceed to TEST FC-1A  . If there are no other faults, repair is complete.
