Test 8B - Short To 5 Volts

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After each repair, perform TEST VER-1.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 6 (Violet/White wire) and No. 26 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/White wire and Violet/Brown wire.
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 6 (Violet/White wire) and No. 46 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/White wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM.
NOTE: A break in test sequence occurs at this point. No test procedures have been omitted.
