Test 65A - Faulty Temperature Gauge/Lamp
NOTE:

- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
- Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Ensure engine cooling system is operating properly. Repair as necessary. If engine cooling system is okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, select engine controller. If scan tool does not display ENGINE CONTROLLER ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to TEST 114A . If scan tool displays ENGINE CONTROLLER ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read Powertrain Control Module (PCM) faults. If scan tool displays ECT SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
If scan tool does not display ECT SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH, go to next step.
- If scan tool displays ECT SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO LOW, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
If scan tool does not display ECT SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO LOW, replace PCM. PCM is located under air cleaner.
