Test 88A - All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
- Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If doors do not lock, go to TEST 88B. If doors lock, use scan tool to read door lock switch voltage. If voltage is more than 0.2 volt, go to TEST 88C . If voltage is less than 0.2 volt, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read door lock switch voltage while depressing a door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is more than 1.7 volts, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If voltage is less than 1.7 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Bone connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 9 (Orange/White wire) while depressing any door lock switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Remove right front door trim panel. Disconnect door lock switch connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on door lock switch connector terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of door lock switch connector terminal No. 1 (Orange/Violet wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Violet wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between door lock switch connector terminals No. 1 (Orange/Violet wire) and No. 4 (Pink wire). Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on door lock switch connector terminal No. 1 (Orange/Violet wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Orange/Violet wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace both front door switches.
