Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
- Remove VSS from transaxle. Apply battery voltage to VSS terminal No. 1 and ground terminal No. 2. Connect a 3-10 k/ohms resistor between VSS terminals No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 .
- Using voltmeter, check voltage between terminals No. 2 and 3 while turning VSS shaft. Voltage should pulse 8 times (4 times on Talon) each time shaft is turned one revolution. Replace VSS if voltage does not pulse as specified.
