Inspection 9 - Speed Control Cannot Be Set

NOTE: A malfunctioning switch or fail-safe function canceling speed control may be present. Possible causes are: defective speed control main switch, defective speed control function switch, defective clock spring, defective clutch switch, defective Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch, defective connector or wiring harness or defective speed control ECM.
  1. If scan tool can communicate with speed control ECM, go to next step. If scan tool cannot communicate with speed control ECM, perform INSPECTION 2  .
  2. If input switch inspection is possible with scan tool, go to next step. If input switch inspection with scan tool is not possible, perform INSPECTION 3  .
  3. If input switch Code 21, 22 or 27 do not remain output, go to next step. If input switch Code 21, 22 or 27 remain output, replace speed control switch.
  4. If input switch Code 23 or 26 do not remain output, replace the speed control ECM. If input switch Code 23 or 26 remain output, perform INSPECTION 14  (Code 23) inspection procedures or INSPECTION 15 M/T  (Code 26) for manual transmission models or INSPECTION 15 A/T  (Code 26) for automatic transmission models.
