Diagnosis & Repair Procedure
- Ensure ignition is off. Connect scan tool to the DLC. See Figure
. Check if scan tool is able to communicate with ETACS ECU. Follo w scan tool instructions. If communication is not possible, go to next step. If communication is possible, go to step 4).
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between DLC terminal No. 16 and ground. If battery voltage does not exist, inspect and repair circuit between fuse No. 10 and DLC. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Ensure ignition is off. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between ground and DLC terminals No. 4 and 5. See Fig 1
. If continuity does not exist, repair as needed. If continuity exists, recheck with alternate scan tool.
- Access receiver behind driver's interior quarter panel. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect receiver harness connector. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between DLC terminal No. 1 and receiver harness connector terminal No. 7. If continuity does not exist, repair as needed. If continuity exists, go to next step.
- Check voltage between receiver harness connector terminal No. 10 and ground. If battery voltage does not exist, repair as needed. If battery voltage exists, check continuity between receiver harness connector terminal No. 20 and ground. Repair as needed. If circuit is okay, replace receiver.
