Injector(S), Fuel: Installation: Installation

Check the condition of the O-rings before installing the injectors. Replace if any damage or abnormal wear is found.

1. Apply a small amount of engine oil to each fuel injector O-ring. This will help with the fuel rail installation.
2. Install the fuel injector(s) (3) into the fuel rail and install the retainer clip(s) (2).
3. Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, INSTALLATION  or RAIL, FUEL, INSTALLATION .
   CAUTION:

   When servicing components near the vacuum pump, avoid contact with the plastic nipple that connects the vacuum pump to the brake booster hose. It is possible to crack the plastic nipple resulting in a brake booster vacuum leak.

4. Install the intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION or MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
