Cable, Shift: Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Make sure the rubber grommet in the floor pan is fully seated to prevent water leaking into the passenger compartment.

  1. Install the shifter cable to the vehicle
  2. Install the shifter cable (2) to the retaining clip (1).

  3. Push the shifter cable grommet through the floor from beneath the vehicle.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Seat the rubber grommet into the floor pan. Ensure that the grommet is fully engaged to the floor pan.
  6. Install the shifter. Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, INSTALLATION .

  7. Install the shift cable (1) to the bracket (2). Make sure the lock tab (3) on the shift cable is fully seated.
  8. Connect the shift cable (1) to the transaxle manual valve lever.
  9. Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  10. Adjust the shifter cable. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .
