Pedal, Accelerator: Installation

The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) and the accelerator pedal are serviced together as an assembly including the bracket.

1. Position the accelerator pedal on the mounting studs (5).
2. Install the three accelerator pedal bracket nuts (3) and tighten to 12 Nm (9 lbf-ft).
3. Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor (APPS) electrical connector (1).
4. Perform the ETC Learn procedure, and erase any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
5. With the ignition in the OFF position, operate the accelerator pedal several times to verify that pedal travel is smooth, and no sticking or binding is present.
