Arm, Lower Control: Installation
- Place the lower control arm (2) into the front suspension crossmember (1).
- Insert a NEW
rear bolt (1) up through the cross-member and lower control arm. Install a NEW
nut on the rear bolt but do not fully tighten.NOTE:
The front lower control arm pivot bolt must be tightened to specification before the rear mounting bolt is tightened to specification.
- Insert a NEW lower control arm front pivot bolt (1) but do not fully tighten the bolt.
- Partially lower the hoist and place a floor jack under the control arm. Raise the floor jack until the lower control arm is at approximate ride height.
- Tighten the lower control arm front pivot bolt (1) to 110 N.m plus 45° additional rotation (80 ft. lbs. plus 45°).
- Tighten the lower control arm rear mounting bolt (1) while holding the nut to 110 N.m plus 45° additional rotation (80 ft. lbs. plus 45°).
- Remove floor jack and return hoist to fully lifted position.
- Install front support beams (1) into front suspension cross-member.
- Install tunnel support brace (2). Install mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 ft. lbs.).
- Install vertical brace and mounting bolts (1). Tighten bolts to 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
- Install the ball joint stud (1) into the knuckle (3), aligning the bolt hole in the knuckle boss with the groove formed in the side of the ball joint stud.
- Install a NEW
ball joint stud pinch bolt and nut (2). Tighten the nut to 65 N.m (48 ft. lbs.).NOTE:
Perform the following two steps on each side of the vehicle.
- Place stabilizer bar (2) in position and install link stud (3) to stabilizer bar.
- Install stabilizer link nut (4) and tighten to 60 N.m (44 ft. lbs.) while holding the link stud (3) stationary.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
