Valve Body: Removal: Notes

  1. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to FLUID, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the electric cooling fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the side cover bolts (1).
  6. Loosen the side cover by tapping with a plastic hammer, remove the side cover.

  7. Disconnect the wire harness from the clamps.
  8. Disconnect the solenoid connectors and the speed sensor connectors (1).

  9. Remove the oil temperature sensor bolt (1) and clamp (2). Remove the sensor (3) from the valve body.

  10. Remove the speed sensor connector (1) from the solenoid clamp.

  11. Remove the valve body bolts evenly in the sequence shown in illustration.

  12. Remove the clip from the linkage rod (1).
  13. Disconnect the linkage rod from the valve body and remove from the transmission.
