Description And Operation: Description

NOTE:

Do not connect devices with power higher than 180 W to the socket.

NOTE:

Do not damage the socket by using unsuitable adaptors.

A standard type power socket (DC) is located in the console at the base of the dashboard, which can be used for the cigar lighter or for connecting instruments or equipment operating on 12 V.

The socket can also house the cigar lighter heater coil; simply press the knob to operate it: after a few seconds it will come out automatically, ready for use.

The front socket has a lighted ring nut

The socket is equipped with a thermal protection device: this protection interrupts the power supply if devices that absorb a lot of energy are connected. The power socket circuit on the console is protected by a dedicated fuse and controlled by the ignition-operated relay switch (INT/A) located in the engine compartment junction unit.

Supplementary Power Ports

A current socket for connection of alternating current (AC) 110 V devices can be fitted, for some Markets, on the tunnel console.

A dedicated inverter, located under the dashboard, transforms the 12 V direct current (DC) of the vehicle's electrical system into 110 V alternating current (AC). The inverter supply logic - controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM)- prevents the battery from running down, by suitably timing the AC socket power supply.
