Negative Cable: Installation

  1. Position the negative battery cable for installation.

  2. Connect the negative battery cable retainer to the chassis, then install the nut (1b) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the terminal of the negative battery cable (1a) to the transmission, then tighten the fastener (2a) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the left front wheel splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Engage the negative battery cable to the retaining clip.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable to the negative terminal post and to engage the retainer.
