Wait-To-Start Lamp
- Turn ignition on. Wait-To-Start lamp should light for 4-10 seconds, depending on engine temperature, and then go out. If lamp lights for 4-10 seconds, Wait-To-Start lamp system is okay. Perform Glow Plug Trouble Shooting. If lamp lights and does not turn off, proceed to step 2. If lamp does not light and engine is at or near operating temperature, allow engine to cool down and retest. If lamp still does not light, proceed to step 2.
- Perform Glow Plug Trouble Shooting. If test lamp functioned as required and Wait-To-Start lamp did not light in step 1, perform Wait-To-Start Lamp Test A. If test lamp functioned as required and Wait-To-Start lamp did not turn off in step 1, perform Wait-To-Start Test B. If test lamp did not function as required, glow plug system is faulty. Proceed as directed by Glow Plug Trouble Shooting.
