Vane Meter Assembly
- To test vane air temperature sensor, unplug harness from vane meter. Measure resistance between VAT signal pin and VAT signal return pin. See Fig 1 . Ambient temperature must be greater than 50°F (10°C) when performing this test.
- Ohmmeter must read 125 ohms at 240°F (116°C) and 3700 ohms at 50°F (10°C). If not, replace vane meter.
- To test vane air flow sensor, remove air cleaner. Ensure there is no oil, dirt, or foreign material in the VAF. Also check for air leaks between vane meter and throttle body.
- Unplug ECA 60 pin connector and inspect for damaged pins, corrosion, or loose wires. Install Breakout Box and connect processor to Breakout Box harness. Turn ignition "ON" with engine off.
- Place a new pencil through center of vane air meter. See Fig 2 . Measure voltage between pins 43 and 46. It should be 2.8-3.7 volts with a reference voltage of 4-6 volts. If not, replace vane meter.
