Rectifier Test
- Remove rectifier from alternator. Set ohmmeter knob at "X1" and calibrate meter. Contact one probe to one of the rectifier "B+" blade terminals and contact each of 3 stator terminals with other probe. Reverse probes and repeat test.
- All diodes should show a low reading of about 7 ohms in one direction and an infinite reading with probes reversed. This reading may be checked against a good rectifier if one is available.
- Perform the proceeding test for negative diodes by contacting rectifier base plate and 3 stator terminals. If readings are not as specified, replace rectifier.
