Engine Identification
Engine is identified by eighth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is stamped on a metal tab, attached to upper left side of instrument panel and is visible through windshield.
NOTE:
On 6.9L engine, when ordering engine replacement parts, refer to label located on front of injection pump gear housing. On 2.3L engine, refer to label located on front of timing belt cover. Exceptions will occur if brackets or equipment blocks view of label.
