Test QQ - System Check

Perform this test ONLY after code 11 is displayed in KEY ON/ENGINE OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST and you have been directed here from TEST A - NO START  , step 14) or by DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM TEST  .

1. ISC Check. On all engines (except 1.9L EFI EFI/Turbo), if you are here for any reason other than engine stall or no start, go to next step. On 1.9L EFI, go to step 3). If engine stalls or if it does not start, attempt to start engine at part throttle. If engine runs roughly, go to next step. If engine runs smoothly at part throttle, go to TEST DD - IDLE SPEED CONTROL  , step 4). If engine does not run (1.9L EFI equipped models), go to step 3). If engine does not run (all other models), go to step 2).
2. EGR Check. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose at EGR valve. Ensure that EGR valve is closed. Start or attempt to start engine. If symptom is eliminated or if no start is resolved, go to TEST Z - EGR ON/OFF CONTROL  , step 1). Check EGR valve and/or exhaust gas recirculation system. If symptom is NOT eliminated or if engine will NOT start, go to TEST S - FUEL CONTROL  , step 1).
