Description & Operation

The system components include a driver's seat switch, a keypad, wiring harnesses, and a keyless entry module. On Town Car, the module is located behind the right side kick panel. On all other models, the module is located below the rear package shelf in the luggage compartment. The system also includes the power door locks and power trunk release.

The keyless entry system enables the vehicle to be locked and unlocked without the use of a key. The system's operation is controlled by a 5-button keypad on the driver's door and the keyless entry module.

Pressing the correct combination will unlock the driver's door and turn on the courtesy lights. Pressing additional buttons will open the remaining doors, lock all doors or open the trunk lid. The system automatically locks all doors when all the doors are closed, the ignition is on, the driver's seat is occupied, and the vehicle is placed in gear.
