CONDITION & CAUSE
Good working condition and proper maintenance of the Rotunda Injector Tester/Cleaner, 113-00001, is necessary for reliable diagnosis and cleaning of multi-port fuel injectors. Premature failure can result if the equipment is not properly maintained and flowmeter contamination can occur. This could cause incorrect float readings and result in improper diagnosis.
REPAIR
To ensure proper operation of the equipment, use the following injector tester/cleaner maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Use a good quality, clean and filtered gasoline in the tester tank.
- Do not leave a mixture of injector power flush and gasoline in the tester after use.
- Before storage, always rinse the tester out by circulating clean gasoline through the unit.
- With denatured alcohol, flush the unit at least once a month. A. While switching the flowmeter selection valve from #1 to #2 several times, allow the fluid to recirculate several minutes. B. Throw away the mixture and repeat the procedure.
- Every other month the fuel filter should be changed.
- Before testing always calibrate the flowmeters.
