Symptom: Poor Performance

Open circuits within the main wiring harness to the MAP sensor may be caused by improperly formed female terminal spring members.

Inspect the formed female terminal spring members. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

Locate the MAP sensor connector on the 12A581 wiring harness.
Check the condition of the connector. Inspect for improperly formed female terminal spring members which lead to:
1. * Partial connector mating.
2. * Terminal push out from connector shell.
3. * Bent or distorted spring inside female terminal.
If connector is partially mated with out-of-position lock beams or connector has terminal push outs, replace the connector assembly.
If terminals have bent spring members, replace the terminals with those included with the connector assembly.
