Symptom: Poor Performance
ISSUE:
Open circuits within the main wiring harness to the MAP sensor may be caused by improperly formed female terminal spring members.
ACTION:
Inspect the formed female terminal spring members. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
INSPECTION AND CORRECTION
- Locate the MAP sensor connector on the 12A581 wiring harness.
- Check the condition of the connector. Inspect for improperly formed female terminal spring members which lead to:
- * Partial connector mating.
- * Terminal push out from connector shell.
- * Bent or distorted spring inside female terminal.
- If connector is partially mated with out-of-position lock beams or connector has terminal push outs, replace the connector assembly.
- If terminals have bent spring members, replace the terminals with those included with the connector assembly.
