Valve Body: Disassembly
- Remove 3-4 solenoid valve, lock-up solenoid, 1-2 solenoid valve and 2-3 solenoid valve. Remove wiring harness and brackets. Remove fluid strainers and "O" rings.
- Remove front control body bolts. Remove front control body with pre-main separator as a unit. Remove pre-main separator and front gasket from front control body. Remove relief valve with .031" (.8 mm) orifice and spring from pre-main control body.
- Remove pre-main control body retaining bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove pre-main control body and main separator as a unit. Remove pre-main rear gasket, main front gasket and main separator from pre-main control body. Remove relief valves with .079" (2.00 mm) and .098" (2.50 mm) orifices and springs from pre-main control body. Remove check ball and spring from pre-main control body. Remove relief valve with .035" (.90 mm) orifice and spring from main control body. See Fig 2 . Remove check ball and spring from main control body.
- Turn assembly over, and remove rear control body retaining bolts. Remove rear control body and rear separator as a unit. Remove main rear gasket and rear separator from rear control body. Remove relief valves with .039" (1.00 mm), .059" (1.50 mm) and .078" (2.00 mm) orifices and springs from rear control body. See Fig 3 .
- Remove relief valve with .098" (2.50 mm) orifice and spring from main control body. Remove rubber ball from main control body.
- Individual valves and springs are removed by removing retaining clips and bore plugs. Some valves are aluminum and cannot be removed using a magnet. Tap valve body on palm of hand to slide valve out of bore. If using a pick becomes necessary to remove valves and springs, use extreme caution to prevent damage to valves and bores.
NOTE:
DO NOT
turn throttle valve adjusting screw on main control body. Adjusting screw is set during manufacturing and MUST NOT
be altered.
CAUTION:
Avoid rounding off sharp edges of valves and plugs when using crocus cloth. These edges perform a cleaning action.
