Short Circuit-To-Ground Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Ford Probe and 1989 Ford Probe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector at ABS control module. Set VOM on 200 k/ohms scale. Measure and record resistance between each of following connector wire terminals:
    • White Wire (Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor) and chassis ground.
    • Yellow wire (Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor) and chassis ground.
    • Yellow/Green wire (Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor) and chassis ground.
    • Green wire (Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor) and chassis ground.
  2. If all resistances are greater than 10 k/ohms, go to PINPOINT TEST WSS-3  . If resistances are NOT more than 10 k/ohms, repair short circuit-to-ground in wires in question between ABS control module and wheel speed sensors. Go to PINPOINT TEST WSS-3  .
