Stator-To-Turbine Interference Check

Place converter on bench, front side down. Install front pump assembly to engage mating splines of stator support, stator and pump drive gear lugs.
Install input shaft, engaging splines with turbine hub. While holding pump stationary, rotate turbine with input shaft.
Turbine should rotate freely in both directions without interference or noise. If interference or noise exists, stator front thrust washer may be worn; converter should be replaced.
