Speedometer Signal Check No. 1

  1. Place test light between a 12-volt source and Green/Red wire at instrument panel 18-pin connector. Instrument panel 18-pin connector is located behind instrument panel. See IDENTIFYING SPEEDOMETER CIRCUIT illustration.
  2. Drive vehicle at 0-5 MPH. If test light glows, replace instrument panel. If test light does not glow and vehicle has a manual transmission, go to SPEEDOMETER SIGNAL CHECK NO. 2. If test light does not glow and vehicle has an automatic transmission, go to SPEEDOMETER SIGNAL CHECK NO. 2 and SPEEDOMETER SIGNAL CHECK No. 3.
