Temperature Gauge Testing
- Unplug coolant temperature sensor connector. Coolant temperature sensor connector is located at top left rear of engine.
- Connect one lead of Gauge System Tester (Rotunda 021-00055) to Yellow/Blue wire at connector. Connect other lead to ground. Set gauge tester in turn to each resistance specified in TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE VALUES table.
- Set ignition switch to RUN position. Observe temperature gauge. Continue test for 2 minutes at each setting to correctly judge gauge condition. Allowable tolerance is twice width of gauge needle. 4) If gauge indicates within allowable range, go to TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK. If indication is not within allowable range, replace instrument cluster.
