Turn Signal Switch

  1. Ensure HAZARD fuse is okay. Replace if necessary. If fuse blows, repair short in Brown wire to flasher unit. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Remove flasher unit, located at relay module at left side of dash. Check for battery voltage at Brown wire at flasher unit connector. If battery voltage exists, go to step 3). If battery voltage is not present, repair Brown wire from fuse panel.
  3. Measure resistance between Black wire at flasher unit and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 4). If resistance is at least 5 ohms, repair Black wire to ground.
  4. Ensure TURN fuse is okay. Replace if necessary. If fuse blows, repair short in Black/Green wire. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  5. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Check for battery voltage at Black/Green wire at turn signal switch. If battery voltage is present, go to step 6). If battery voltage is not present, repair Black/Green wire between fuse panel and turn signal switch.
  6. Install flasher unit. With ignition switch in RUN position, set turn signal switch to position not working. Check for battery voltage on output wire of side not working: Green/Yellow wire for left; Black/Red wire for right. If battery voltage is present, turn signal switch is okay. If battery voltage is not present, replace turn signal switch.
