Temperature Sending Unit Test

Remove coolant temperature sending unit from engine. Place sending unit in container of oil. Measure resistance between sending unit terminal and case. Heat oil to 122°F (50°C). Resistance should be 90-154 ohms. Heat oil to 239°F (115°C). Resistance should be 24-28 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace sending unit.
