Headlight Switch

Remove headlight switch. See HEADLIGHT SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Test headlight switch for continuity between specified terminals at each switch position. See LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. See Fig 1 . Replace headlight switch if continuity is not as specified.

Switch In HEADLIGHTS Position

(1) Continuity should exist with thumbwheel in detent position; continuity should not exist with thumbwheel not in detent position.
(2) Resistance should increase and decrease smoothly as thumbwheel is rotated.
