With control lever in FLOOR position and interior temperature below temperature setting, blower operation is delayed by the thermal blower lock-out until engine coolant reaches about 120°F (49°C).

When blower turns on, outside air is directed through evaporator core to heater core. The blend door then directs airflow through heater core to floor ducts. Some air is directed to defroster ducts. The compressor does not operate in FLOOR mode.

As less heat is required to maintain interior temperature, blend door moves to direct only a portion of air from evaporator core to heater core.
