Section 61 (A/C-Heater System - Automatic): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG article in ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

The automatic A/C-heater system consists of Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) module, ambient temperature sensor, sunload sensor, and automatic (in-vehicle) temperature control sensor. The controlled components include an integrated Blower Speed Controller (BSC) and Pulse Width Modulator (PWM), 3 vacuum actuated air control doors and an electrically operated temperature blend door.

Clutch operation is controlled by the Variable Control Relay Module (VCRM), with inputs from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and A/C cycling (pressure) switch (ACCS).
