Charge Indicator
- Unplug voltage regulator connector at alternator. Connect jumper wire between terminal "I" on harness connector and ground. Turn ignition on. Indicator light should come on brightly. If light comes on, go to step 3). If light does not come on, inspect for presence of bulb socket resistor. If resistor is missing, replace bulb socket. If resistor is present, ensure bulb socket leads contact printed circuit.
- If printed circuit contacts are good, inspect and replace bulb if necessary. If bulb is not burned out, inspect wiring between ignition switch and regulator for continuity. Repair as necessary.
- Remove jumper wire. Reconnect wiring harness to regulator. Connect voltmeter negative lead to battery negative post, and positive lead to regulator terminal "A" screw. Voltmeter should indicate battery voltage. If battery voltage does not exist, repair circuit "A" wiring.
