Wipers Continue To Operate When Switch Is Turned Off
- Ensure Wiper Control Module (WCM) and wiper motor connectors are firmly seated. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary and retest system.
- Unplug wiper motor harness connector. Turn wiper switch off. Check continuity between Black/Pink wire and Dark Blue/Orange wire terminals of wiper motor connector. Check continuity between Yellow/Red wire and Red wire terminals of wiper motor connector. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace wiper motor and retest system.
- Unplug WCM connector. Check continuity of Black/Pink wire, Dark Blue/Orange wire, Yellow/Red wire and Red wire between WCM and wiper motor connectors. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open wire(s) and retest system.
- Ensure wiper switch is off. Measure resistance between Orange wire and Brown/White wire terminals of WCM. If resistance is not 45,000-50,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is as specified, replace WCM and retest system.
- Unplug wiper switch harness connector. Ensure wiper switch is off. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Orange wire terminals of harness connector. If resistance is 45,000-50,000 ohms, repair open Brown/White wire and Orange wire. If resistance is not 45,000-50,000 ohms, replace wiper switch and retest system.
