Wipers Inoperative At Interval Setting

  1. Unplug connector from Wiper Control Module (WCM) located behind instrument panel, to left of steering column. Set wiper switch for interval operation. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Orange wire terminals of harness connector. If resistance is not 10,500-12,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10,500-12,000 ohms, go to step 3).
  2. Unplug connector from wiper switch. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Orange wire terminals of switch. If resistance is 10,500-12,000 ohms, repair open wire between WCM and wiper switch. If resistance is not as specified, test wiper switch. See WIPER SWITCH TEST  .
  3. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Dark Blue/White wire terminals of harness connector while rotating interval control. If resistance does not change from 3.3 k/ohms to 104 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance changes from 3.3 k/ohms to 104 k/ohms, replace WCM.
  4. Unplug connector from windshield wiper switch. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Dark Blue/White wire terminals of switch while rotating interval control. If resistance changes from 3.3 k/ohms to 104 k/ohms, repair open wiring between wiper switch and WCM. If resistance does not change as specified, test wiper switch. See WIPER SWITCH TEST.
